The fourth cloud
Three clouds.One missing
Compute, storage and network turned into services you rent. The connections to partners, banks and AI models did not. That is the fourth cloud, and Svarno builds it.
Compute
Companies racked their own servers.
Bought for peak load, idle most of the year, replaced every few years. Someone was always on call for power and cooling.
Then compute became a cloud.
Storage
Companies bought their own disks.
Mirrored disks, nightly backups, and a restore nobody tested until the day it was needed.
Then storage became a cloud.
Network
Companies pulled their own cables.
Own lines between sites, two carriers, a network diagram nobody kept current and firewall rules nobody could explain.
Then network became a cloud.
Connections
Companies wire themselves to the world.
Bank, carrier, supplier, tax office, AI model. Each connection written once, by one developer, for one project. Now AI agents use them, day and night.
Nobody has taken this off their hands. Yet.
Definition
What a connection is.
Everything that passes between your company and another. An order to a supplier. A confirmation from a bank. A status from a carrier. A question to an AI model, and its answer.
It is not the cable, the network cloud took care of that. It is not the server, the compute cloud took care of that. It is the agreement: what gets sent, in what shape and when. And what happens when it does not arrive.
That agreement is written in code, in a hundred places. Usually by one developer, often one who has since left.
What changes
Connections are infrastructure. Like the other three.
- Nothing gets lost
- Every exchange runs through one place and is stored before anyone gets an answer. An outage delays a delivery. It no longer deletes it.
- Changes are seen
- When a bank renames a field at 02:14, the company knows at 02:14, and which of its processes depend on it.
- Agents stay in bounds
- An agent can retry as often as it likes, the supplier still gets one order. Every call is kept, and every agent has a budget.
